Ben Nicholson-Smith is reporting that Toronto Blue Jays top pitching prospect Daniel Norris underwent arthroscopic elbow surgery. The procedure reportedly removed bone spurs from his elbow.
The 21-year-old left hander had a solid minor league season. Moving through three minor league levels, Norris had a combined 12-2 record with a 2.53 ERA. This season he has clearly taken his game to a new level with each and every start he has made.
Entering next season he has an outside shot at making the rotation out of camp. With a solid farm system, Norris is at the top of the organization. He has strikeout stuff and improving control. These tools should be a mainstay at the top of the rotation for the foreseeable future.
