Bruins Injury Update: Torey Krug will be out 2-3 weeks with broken finger

By on 10/29/2014 12:30:00 PM

Young defensemen Torey Krug will be out of the lineup for 2-3 weeks with a broken finger. Krug suffered the injury in last night's game against the Minnesota Wild. The Boston Bruins have recalled Joe Morrow and David Warsofsky to replace him.

Krug took a slash last night which sliced a part of his pinky finger off. He was seen hobbling to the bench after taking a shot to the foot in the second period but the pinky could have been the real injury that kept him out of playing the 6-on-5 final minute of the game, as the Bruins desperately needed a goal. Minnesota won the game 4-3 with scoring three goals in the third period.

Krug joins Zdeno Chara (knee) and Kevan Miller (upper-body injury) on the injured defensemen list. Bruins have recalled Morrow and Warsofsky to replace Krug. These two will practice with the team today and travel tomorrow with the Bruins for their game against the Buffalo Sabres.

Krug has had a solid start to the season with two goals, four assists in 11 games.
