Bruins Injury Update: Zdeno Chara out minimum 4-6 weeks

By on 10/24/2014 07:36:00 AM

It is not good news for the Boston Bruins. They will be without captain Zdeno Chara for the next 4-6 weeks...if not longer.

Chara sustained a lower body injury during Thursday night's game against the New York Islanders. The injury is reported to be a left knee ligament injury.

The knee injury will cause him to miss 4-6 weeks. After that they will reevaluate the defenseman and see if his injury will require surgery.

The injury may have come after a hard body check to John Tavares-but it is still questionable if that was the main cause to the injury.

Last night against the New York Islanders, Chara played just over 4 minutes before leaving the game with an injury. Coach Claude Julien had no report after the game and could not even say whether the injury was upper or lower body.

In the mean time look for the Boston Bruins to recall one or two defenseman from Providence Bruins as they only have five healthy ones on the roster with Kevan Miller out indefinitely.
