Buccaneers Injury Update: Vincent Jackson, Josh McCown miss practice

By on 10/10/2014 11:47:00 AM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' wide receiver, Vincent Jackson (Ribs), and quarterback, Josh McCown (Thumb), both missed practice on Wednesday, as tweeted by Rick Stroud of

The status is still unknown for McCown at this point. Even if he was healthy, the Buccaneers are more than likely leaning towards sticking with Mike Glennon. The offense has looked much improved over the last two weeks.

Vincent Jackson is expected to play this weekend according to a league source, as reported by Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports NFL Insider.

Jackson has been dealing with some discomfort due to his sore ribs. The veteran is more than likely getting some additional rest and healing time. He has been given days off before and especially now that Jackson is over thirty years old.

The chemistry between Jackson and Glennon has been very effective. It's clear to see that both players are comfortable with each other. The wide receiver had 12 targets, catching 8 balls for 144 yards, with an 18.0 yards per catch average last week.

As it looks right now, the Buccaneers expect Jackson to play, barring any setbacks regarding his rib injury. The Buccaneers are coming off of a tough overtime loss to the New Orleans Saints last week. They will look to bounce back at home against the Baltimore Ravens this weekend.
