Bucks Injury Update: Ersan Ilyasova is day-to-day with a knee injury

By on 10/17/2014 06:30:00 AM

The Milwaukee Bucks head into tonight's game with a 1-3 record this preseason after coming off a 2013-2014 season in which they struggled to just 15 wins. Ranked 28th in the NBA in scoring, 24th in rebounding and 25th in points allowed, the Bucks need improvement in nearly all phases of the game. One player who could help in all areas is a healthy Ersan Ilyasova, who is day-to-day with a knee injury.

Keith Allison  via Wikimedia Commons reported that Ilyasova wont be with the team when they play the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday and the New York Knicks on Saturday due to a knee injury. Head coach Jason Kidd could just be overly cautious with Ilyasova, who missed a good portion of last season with injuries.

With Ilyasova out, expect John Henson and Johnny O'Bryant III to see more playing time. Ilyasova is averaging 10 points and nine rebounds in two preseason games, but is shooting just 8-for-30 from the floor and 2-for-4 from the free throw line.

Ilyasova, in his seventh NBA season, averaged 11.2 points and 6.2 rebounds in 55 games last season. He struggled to 40.9 percent shooting form the floor and 28.2 percent from three-point range. Ilyasova has played his entire NBA career with the Bucks and has career averages of 10.6 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.
