Cardinals Injury Update: Andre Ellington limited at practice

By on 10/23/2014 12:49:00 PM

The Arizona Cardinals' injury report for Wednesday listed Andre Ellington (Foot) as a limited participant. This could have an impact for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles if Ellington is unable to play.

The Cardinals' running back has been dealing with a foot issue pretty much the entire season. Ellington has been able to play through the injury and gut it out all season so far. The team wants to be cautious with their running back and limited his participation in practice yesterday.

Ellington so far in six games has put up very pedestrian numbers, with 105 carries 393 yards for 3.7 average and one rushing touchdown. He has been more effective as a receiver, catching 25 balls for 260 yards with a 10.4 average and one touchdown. With his rushing production down this year, it may be a direct effect of his ailing foot injury.

The Eagles' defense ranks 23rd against the run this year, allowing 124 yards a game. This is a great opportunity for Ellington if he's able to play. He could be a big impact with running and receiving on Sunday.

If you own Ellington in fantasy, pay attention to the Cardinals' injury report leading up to Sunday's game. The way it looks now, he will probably play on Sunday and continue to deal with his foot injury on a day-to-day basis.
