Early Wednesday morning Brian Windhorst of ESPN tweeted that star point guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kyrie Irving, was
seen wearing a walking boot.
Ran into Cavs as they were going sightseeing in Rio. Kyrie Irving is in a walking boot on his right foot.,

Considering Irving’s history with injuries, I
wasn’t surprised in the least that the point guard may be suffering from
another setback. As news does, it didn’t take long before the details
surrounding the injury were revealed. Much like Windhorst, Cavaliers’ reporter and NBA insider Chris Haynes also took to Twitter to break the news on Irving.
#Cavs guard Kyrie Irving sprained his right ankle in practice. He's wearing a boot for precautionary measures. Says it's not serious.

Hopefully Irving is telling the truth and the
injury is nothing ‘serious’. With the Cavs looking to create chemistry on and
off the court, Irving’s injury doesn’t come at the best time. Even with LeBron
and Love healthy, not having their point guard could create problems,
especially with the season set to begin soon.

That being said, do I think the Cavaliers are going to struggle if Irving is down at the start of the season? Not in the least. The Cavs have possibly the best starting five the NBA has seen since the days of Jordan’s Bulls. Bold? Yes, but it’s true. Not only that, the team’s bench is filled with players that LeBron trusts. He made it to the finals last year with players he didn’t - think about it. And no offence to the boys in Miami, but the Cavs rotation is leaps and bounds better than the Heat.
There is no doubt in my mind that the
Cavs are going to make the finals this year. I think LeBron has set himself up
to make history in Cleveland, and with the help of Love and a healthy Irving,
there is no ceiling for how exceptional this team can become
