Boston Celtics' center Vitor Faverani was limited in Wednesday's practice due to a knee issue. After experiencing a bit of swelling on his surgically-repaired left knee, Faverani underwent a precautionary MRI.

"Vitor had a little bit of swelling, so we sent him up to (the training staff) and took an MRI just to be sure," Celtics head coach Brad Stevens said. "He doesn't feel like it's an insurmountable amount of pain, he just has a lot more swelling than he had hoped."

Faverani underwent season-ending knee surgery last March, after tearing his lateral meniscus in his left knee. Faverani and the Celtics hoped he would be fully healthy by training camp and not experience any issues, but this was clearly not the case.

After struggling much of last season, Faverani and the Celtics are hoping for a bounce back year from the 26-year-old Brazilian center. If healthy, he is expected to fight for minutes at center with Tyler Zeller and Joel Anthony.
