Crawford never specifically said what the injury is. added the Rivers said Crawford could have played if it was a regular season game, but there was no sense risking further injury in a meaningless game and wanted Crawford ready for the season opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday.

With Crawford out of the lineup, Jared Cunningham and Chris Douglas-Roberts saw extended playing time against the Trail Blazers

Crawford was the eighth overall pick in the 2000 NBA draft.  The veteran has played for the Bulls, Knicks, Warriors, Hawks, Trail Blazers and Clippers.  In 69 games last season, Crawford averaged 18.6 points, 3.2 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game.  Crawford has a career scoring average of 15.6 points in 957 games.
