Cowboys Injury Update: Bruce Carter expects to miss game Sunday

By on 10/02/2014 04:00:00 PM

The chances that Bruce Carter will play Sunday against the Houston Texans are slim, as reported by Rainer Sabin of the Dallas Morning News.

When Carter was asked about his injury on Tuesday, the linebacker said "Yeah, I'll probably be down." Carter was unable to practice Wednesday. The linebacker suffered a quadriceps injury during the game against the New Orleans Saints. The injury could have him sidelined for 10 - 14 days.

"I rehab pretty much all day," he said. "Ice, elevation and compression and pretty much the same cycle over and over. Get some of this swelling out."

The Dallas Cowboy's linebacker is hoping this treatment will get him back on the field as soon as possible. Former Cowboy's defensive end, DeMarcus Ware, missed three games last year with a similar injury. That does not mean Carter will also miss three games, because all players heal differently. It's just something to think about moving forward.

The way it looks now, Carter most likely won't play against Houston on Sunday in the battle for Texas. The Cowboys have been looking stronger every week. The biggest surprise is their defense, which is playing much better than anticipated. One of the reasons for that is Carter's play at the linebacker position. The Cowboys look to get him back very soon.
