Dodgers Injury Update: Dan Haren undergoes shoulder surgery

By on 10/23/2014 06:00:00 AM

The Los Angeles Dodgers won 94 games and the National League West division title in 2014, but lost to the Cardinals in the NLDS in five games. Entering the off season ranked sixth in the Major Leagues in ERA and runs scored, the Dodgers have little to do this winter to improve the team other than stay healthy. On the injury front, pitcher Dan Haren underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder and should be ready by Spring Training.

According to the official Twitter account of the Los Angeles Dodgers:
Haren is part of a strong Dodgers' rotation that includes outstanding talents such as Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke.

Haren, in his 12th Major League season, was 13-11 with a 4.02 ERA for the Dodgers this season. He struck out 145 and walked only 36 in 186 innings. Haren, a very durable and consistent pitcher, has ten consecutive seasons with 10 or more wins and seven seasons with 200 or more innings pitched. The veteran right-hander has pitched for the Cardinals, A's, Diamondbacks, Angels, Nationals and Dodgers and has a career record of 142-122 with an ERA of 3.77.
