Ducks Injury Update: Ben Lovejoy Breaks Hand During Fight. Out Indefinitely

By on 10/27/2014 05:31:00 PM

Sunday night featured an intense game between west coast rivals Anaheim and San Jose. During the game, there were numerous fights (155 total penalty minutes) and one of the victims is Anaheim Ducks defenseman Ben Lovejoy, who is out indefinitely after sustaining a fractured hand during one of many fights.

According to Kevin Weekes from the NHL Network, Ben Lovejoy will be out an “extended period” with a broken hand. The injury is said to have occurred when Lovejoy was battling Joe Pavelski midway through the third period. Despite the results of the fight, Pavelski was relatively unscathed once tempers cooled off. Video of their fight is here:

Ben Lovejoy has one goal in nine games and a plus/minus rating of +2. San Jose ended the Ducks’ seven-game winning streak 4-1. Anaheim heads off on a four game road trip beginning in Chicago on Tuesday night.
