Flames Injury Update: Matt Stajan and Joe Colborne leave game

By on 10/29/2014 08:57:00 AM

The Calgary Flames had a tough night. It wasn't just that the Flames out-shot the Habs 38-19, or the fact that they lost 2-1 in a shootout, but they also lost Joe Colborne and Matt Stajan to injuries last night in a hard fought game at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary.

According to, Colborne's injury is still a bit of a mystery. The second year Flame took a shot off the top of his helmet during a Calgary powerplay opportunity early in the second period and he was seen receiving treatment to his wrist/forearm area as well when it was announced he would not return.

As for Stajan, his third period knee-to-knee collision with Montreal defenseman Jarred Tinordi left little doubt as to why he did not return to the ice. Stajan, in obvious pain, was helped off the ice by trainers and teammates.
