By on 10/12/2014 03:21:00 PM

A heartbreaking loss on the ice to the Montreal Canadiens (4-3, SO) did not end after the game as center Vincent Lecavalier left the arena with a walking boot on his left foot. Ian McClaren from The Score reported that Lecavalier’s injury occurred when he was hit by the slapshot of his teammate Mark Streit.

The Flyers were leading 3-0 during the game, but ended up losing 4-3 in a shootout. The injury did not affect Vincent Lecavalier during the game as he was able to continue to play through the overtime period. Lecavalier even took the first shootout opportunity but was unable to convert.

Through three games, Lecavalier has scored one goal and has two assists. This is Lecavalier’s second season with the Flyers as the team looks to advance to the second round of the playoffs.

The Flyers next game is Tuesday at home against Anaheim. Vincent Lecavalier’s status is undetermined at the current time.
