Flyers Injury Update: Vincent Lecavalier out for 2 Weeks With Injured Foot

By on 10/13/2014 05:19:00 PM

Philadelphia Flyers GM Ron Hextall confirmed today that Vincent Lecavalier will be out approximately two weeks with an injured foot. Randy Miller from also reported that the Flyers are expected to make a call up from their AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, for Tuesday’s game.

Previously, it was reported by Sports Injury Alert that Vincent Lecavalier was hurt when being hit by teammate Mark Streit’s slapshot.  This occurred during a first period power play for the Flyers. Lecavalier actually finished the entire game, overtime period and shootout which is remarkable for such a serious injury.

It is predicted that Lecavalier will miss between five to six games while he is out for this injury. He could return to action on Tuesday, October 28th against the defending Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings. The Flyers will need to find additional sources of offense as they will miss Lecavalier’s creativity while he is out.
