Flyers Injury Update: Wayne Simmonds suffers lower-body injury, will not play tonight

The Philadelphia Flyers injury list keeps on growing. Forward Wayne Simmonds will not play in Thursday Nights final preseason game (for the Flyers) as he suffered from a lower body injury. As well, he may not play on opening night.

The injury is a mystery, all we know is it is a lower body injury. It happened sometime between Tuesday nights game and Thursday mornings practice. Hard to put a timeframe on it because Wednesday the team had off from training and when Thursday morning came around he was not at practice.

"I can't tell you what's wrong," Flyers right wing Jakub Voracek said. Management is also not up to give details.

Good news for the fans and Simmonds is even if he is not playing in Thursday night's game, he will travel with the team to Cape Cod for a bonding activity.

Last season with the Flyers, Simmonds played 82 games, had 29 goals and 31 assists.
