By on 10/23/2014 03:30:00 PM

Philadelphia Flyers forward Zac Rinaldo suffered an upper body injury in the first period of their 5-3 victory against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Cam Tucker from Pro Hockey Talk reported that Rinaldo’s last shift came at the end of the first period.

Zac Rinaldo has a reputation in the NHL of being a big hitter. During the 2013-2014, Rinaldo led the Flyers with 153 penalty infraction minutes (PIM) in 67 games. The exact hockey play where Rinaldo’s injury occurred is undetermined at the current time. The Flyers have an off day on Thursday. An update on Zac Rinaldo could be shared late Thursday afternoon or Friday morning during open skate. Rinaldo has yet to notch a point through seven games this season.

The Flyers next game is at home on Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings. Philadelphia is currently 2-3-2 and near the bottom of the Metropolitan Division.
