In an October series, every arm is valuable and having Machi the rest of the way will be a necessity for the Giants as the series progresses. This season Machi has had his best year of his career. While appearing in a career high 71 games Machi has a 7-1 record with 2.58 ERA. The 32-year-old right hander has developed into one of the Giants most trusted arms in the late innings.
Making less than one-million dollars this season, Machi has become one of the biggest bargains in the game. Though he is already advanced in years, he has an arm to stick with the Giants for several years to come.
