Giants Injury Update: Odell Beckham to return to practice in full capacity

By on 10/01/2014 09:30:00 AM

In this springs draft, the New York Giants selected a wide receiver in the first round hoping he could be the complement to Victor Cruz. On Monday, Odell Beckham Jr. was able to get back on the field with his teammates and is hoping to be cleared to make his NFL debut on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

Beckham injured his hamstring in OTA's and aggravated the injury twice during training camp according to Jordan Raanan of NJ.com. The lingering issue caused Beckham to miss all four preseason games and the first four Giants regular season contests.

He is set to practice 'pretty much in full' on Wednesday and Thursday following the off day on Tuesday. "I feel great. My body feels great and I'm looking forward to Atlanta," Beckham said on Monday via NJ.com.

He still has to make it through the weeks practices before being cleared to play, but the 12th overall pick out of LSU certainly appears to heading in the right direction. He will have to earn the trust of Giants quarterback Eli Manning and mentally get over the nervousness of re-aggravating the injury. It will be exciting for the Giants and their fans to see their top pick in action, hopefully as soon as this Sunday.
