Hornets Injury Update: Kemba Walker hurts left knee

By on 10/15/2014 08:30:00 AM

Kemba Walker of the Charlotte Hornets suffered a left knee contusion against the Orlando Magic on Monday night. He's expected to miss Wednesday's game against the Detroit Pistons, according to ESPN.

Charlotte head coach Steve Clifford sounded off on the injury:
I think he's OK. He's got one spot where it's a little bit sore, but I think everything's going to be fine. It'll just depend on how he feels. He's in the training room now and I don't think they felt like this was anything serious.
The ninth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft had the best season of his career last year, as he averaged 17.7 points, 6.1 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game—all career highs.
