The Charlotte Hornets open the 2014-2015 regular season on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Bucks following a 3-5 preseason. Looking to improve upon a 43-39 record from last season, the Hornets added shooting guard Lance Stephenson to the roster, who had the best season of his young career last year with the Indiana Pacers. After with a groin injury which caused him to miss practice on Monday, he's questionable for Wednesday's game.

I reported on October 27 that Stephenson had a groin injury which kept him out of practice as a precautionary measure to make sure he'd start the season 100 percent. But now his status for the season opener on Wednesday is up in the air.

According to Rotowire official Twitter account,
Stephenson left the Pacers for the Hornets after he turned down the Pacers $17 million offer for the Hornets three-year, $27.5 million deal. Stephenson felt disrespected by the Pacers' offer and is happy being with the Hornets, where he feels appreciated.
"I figured I'd just go somewhere else where I could be more happy and I feel like I'm playing (for) at least what I'm worth."
The Hornets hope that Stephenson can continue to improve and be a presence up front alongside Al Jefferson.
Stephenson is in his fifth NBA season and first with the Hornets. He averaged 13.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 78 games with the Pacers last season. The 24-year-old out of Cincinnati has career averages of 9.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 210 games.
