Hurricanes Injury Update: Andrej Sekera feeling 'real sore', considered day-to-day

By on 10/15/2014 03:00:00 PM

The Carolina Hurricanes received some good news regarding the nasty spill that starting defenseman Andrej Sekera took into the boards Tuesday night. According to The Score, Sekera emerged only "real sore" from a face-first collision with the end boards that looked to be potentially much worse.

Sekera appeared to have gotten his skate caught up on the pads of goaltender Cam Ward just as Ward relinquished a goal to Marcus Foligno in the first period. The Carolina Hurricanes official Twitter account said x-rays on Sekera were negative and he is now listed as day-to-day.

Sekera, a Slovakian national team member, is in his ninth NHL season and second with the Hurricanes. He has 138 points in 416 career games with Buffalo and Carolina.
