Hurricanes Injury Update: Eric Staal out for Tonight’s Game

By on 10/16/2014 05:30:00 PM

The hits keep on coming for the Carolina Hurricanes. They will also be without Eric Staal tonight for their game against the New York Rangers.  Previously, it was also announced that two other players who would not be playing tonight - Jeff Skinner and Andrej Sekera.

Chris Peters from CBS Sports reported that Eric Staal would miss his second straight game after suffering an upper body injury this past Saturday against the New York Islanders. Initial fears were that Staal had sustained a concussion, but that is not the case.

Eric Staal is a captain for the Hurricanes and one of their star forwards. Last season Staal led the Hurricanes with 61 total points (21 goals and 40 assists). Staal’s offensive prowess and passing skills are sorely needed for the Hurricanes as they have struggled at the beginning of the season. Currently, the team sits at 0-2-1 as they look to secure their first win of the year tonight in New York.
