Hurricanes Injury Update: Jeff Skinner could make return Thursday against Rangers

Jeff Skinner could make his return on Thursday night as the Carolina Hurricanes take on the New York Rangers according to CBS Sports. Skinner, who suffered a concussion in the preseason after being hit by Matt Niskanen, has recently started skating and practicing again. The Hurricanes remain optimistic that he could make his season debut on Thursday.

So what does this mean for the Carolina Hurricanes who are struggling right now to find their way? It's a very good sign that Skinner has started to practice again. He is a key component to the Hurricanes offense.

The Hurricanes should be careful with Skinner though. He has had previous concussion issues and they can't risk losing him for a long period of time. A healthy Jeff Skinner would be a huge help to a struggling Hurricanes offense who are already missing key players like Eric Staal, Jordan Staal, and Patrick Dwyer

Having Skinner back in the lineup would add one more weapon to an offense that is struggling to find the back of the net. It would also bring back some leadership to a team that has been missing in their locker room over the past couple games. Whether he plays against the Rangers or sometime in the near future, a healthy Jeff Skinner is good news for the Hurricanes and their fans.
