Islanders Injury Update: Grabovski is Placed on IR. Visnovsky Likely to Play Thursday

By on 10/23/2014 12:30:00 PM

The new York Islanders have made a few personnel moves heading into their game on Thursday against the Boston Bruins. According to Arthur Staple from Newsday, the Islanders have placed Mikhail Grabovski on injured reserve retroactive to October 16. Lubomir Visnovsky is scheduled to return from the IR today (Thursday) and play tonight against the Bruins.

Mikhail Grabovski suffered a concussion against the San Jose Sharks on October 16. Grabovski currently has two goals and one assist for the Islanders through four games. The earliest Grabovski could return to the ice would be Saturday against the Dallas Stars. Lubomir Visnovsky is looking to make his 2014-2015 debut tonight after recovering from back issues. Visnovsky’s durability is a concern as he was limited to only 24 games last season because of injuries.

The Islanders are looking to get back into the win column after two straight losses to Toronto and Pittsburgh.
