Islanders Injury Update: Josh Bailey suffers broken hand, out for 3-4 weeks

Winger Josh Bailey from the New York Islanders was unable to finish the team’s game on Thursday evening against the Boston Bruins as he departed late in first period with what has now been diagnosed as a broken hand.

Arthur Staple from Newsday is reporting that Josh Bailey suffered this injury late in the first period as the result of a slash. After a relatively rough 2013-2014 season (8 goals and 30 assists), Bailey was trending in a better direction at the beginning of the current season with two goals and two assists through the first seven games. Josh Bailey had begun to solidify his position on the second line with more impactful play.

The Islanders defeated the Bruins 3-2 and welcome the Dallas Stars to Long Island on Saturday. The team has not yet announced any roster moves to coincide with Bailey being placed on IR.
