By on 10/17/2014 02:49:00 PM

Last night, New York Islanders center Mikhail Grabovski avoided serious injury after taking a massive hit from San Jose Sharks enforcer John Scott. Grabovski was helped from the ice and did not return to the game. The injury occurred midway through the first period.

Chris Battaglia from The Score reported that Mikhail Grabovski remained down on the ice holding his head for several minutes before he was able to make it to the dressing room. Video of the hit and injury can be seen here. No penalty was called on the play. Through four games this season, Grabovski has two goals and one assist. The Islanders were able to pull of a dramatic 4-3 Shootout victory without Grabovski. This victory allowed to Islanders to maintain their undefeated record (4-0) this season.

It is uncertain whether or not Grabovski will be available on Saturday for their game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
