Kings Injury Update: Jake Muzzin still waiting for clearance from doctors

By on 10/20/2014 09:30:00 PM

The Los Angeles Kings are waiting for Jake Muzzin to be cleared by the teams doctors. He is awaiting his '3-week' time frame (which will be Thursday October 23rd) before getting x-rays and seeing if he will be cleared to return to the ice.

Muzzin suffered an upper-body injury during preseason. He has so far missed the beginning of the season rehabbing the injury. The injury is said to be a 'frustrating one' according to coach Darryl Sutter. Muzzin has been doing everything he could to return as soon as possible, except he is unable to play until he gets the clearance after the xrays.

Sutter also said, “He looks fine, but it hasn’t changed in terms of the same thing we said before. It’s not coaches making the decision or a player making the decision. Doctors are going to [make the decision], so just wait.”

Muzzin recently received a 5 year, 20 million dollar extension from the Kings. Last season, he played 76 games, had five goals and 19 assists.
