Kings Injury Update: Jake Muzzin, Trevor Lewis out of the lineup for Saturday's game

The defending Stanley Cup champions will be without defenseman Jake Muzzin and forward Trevor Lewis, as confirmed by Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider. Both are considered day-to-day at the moment.

"They’re both frustrating injuries," head coach Darryl Sutter said after the team practiced in El Segundo on Friday. "There’s nothing you can do about it. When they’re ready, they’re ready. I mean, Muzz is doing everything. It’s frustrating."

Muzzin also missed the team's season-opener last Wednesday, a 4-0 loss to the San Jose Sharks. Brayden McNaab is the beneficiary of this injury, getting to play alongside superstar Drew Doughty. Muzzin played 76 games last season. He scored five goals and added 19 assists. He averaged just over 19 minutes per game. The nature of his injury is still unknown.

Lewis played 10:29 in the season-opener. He had six shots on goal, two hits, and finished with a minus-2 plus/minus record. He's officially out with a mid-to-upper-body injury, which isn't saying much.

Jordan Nolan will likely be in the lineup for Lewis. He played in 64 games for the Kings last season. He had six goals and four assists.
