Lakers Injury Update: Jeremy Lin to be re-evaluated after spraining ankle during practice

By on 10/13/2014 06:00:00 AM

The Los Angeles Lakers entered Sunday's game against the Golden State Warriors with a record of 1-1 on the preseason. Injuries were a main reason the Lakers struggled to a 27-win season last year and have already started to take their toll this preseason. Jordan Clarkson went down last week with an injury and now Jeremy Lin sprained his ankle during practice on Saturday.

As reported by Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times, Lin was scheduled to be re-evaluated after  Robert Sacre stepped on Lin's ankle during practice. The injury left the Lakers with just Steve Nash and Ronnie Price at point guard.

It was uncertain whether or not Nash or Lin would be available for the game against the Warriors. Lin is currently listed as day-to-day.

Lin, entering his fifth NBA season, has played for the Warriors, Knicks and Rockets before being traded to the Lakers in July.  He averaged 12.5 points and 4.1 assists in 71 games last season. Lin has career averages of 11.9 points, 4.8 assists and 2.6 assists in 217 games.
