Lakers Injury Update: Julius Randle will miss the remainder of the season following surgery

By on 10/29/2014 07:45:00 PM

The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a huge loss yesterday night when first round pick Julius Randle went down for the season with a broken leg, as reported by the Los Angeles Lakers. The 6'9" power forward took an unfortunate tumble late in the game and immediately was taken out.

Randle reportedly underwent surgery this morning and is not expected to return at any point during the 2014-2015 season.
The rookie has played exceptionally well during the preseason, scoring 8.4 points and grabbing 4.8 rebounds in about 21 minutes per game. However, that is just preseason and the real games, the one with much more on the line, would be where Randle would have to prove himself. Unfortunately for Laker fans and the NBA in general, that will have to wait until next year.

Kobe Bryant had his input on the situation, telling Randle "to keep his spirits up”, as reported by Ryan Ward of Lakers Nation. Bryant also iterated the team will be there for him as he goes through rehab.

Despite the loss, a team fueled by Kobe Bryant will certainly continue pounding away game by game, hoping to prove those who doubt the team wrong.
