Lakers Injury Update: Xavier Henry out for the remainder of the preseason

By on 10/22/2014 07:30:00 AM

The Los Angeles Lakers guard Xavier Henry will miss the entire preseason and is questionable for the start of the season as well, courtesy his struggles with his right knee.

ESPN reported that Henry is garnering a second opinion from Dr. Keith Pyne, following which he is supposed to fly to Germany for Regenokine treatment from Dr. Jens Hartmann.
Henry initially underwent an arthroscopic surgical repair on his right knee on 11th April, 2014. Since then, he has strived to regain full fitness, but without much avail. Henry is expected to join up with the Lakers on October 24, when an update will be released about his condition.

Henry averaged his career-best 10 points per game and 2.7 rebounds per game in the last season with 43 appearances for the Lakers. The franchise however, had a forgettable 2013/14 season as they suffered the most number of losses in their history, finishing with a 27-55 record as they failed to qualify for the Playoffs.

The Los Angeles Lakers also have Steve Nash, Jordan Clarkson, Nick Young and Ryan Kelly sidelined at the moment. The mounting injuries will be the Lakers' primary concern going into the season.
