Lakers Injury Update: Xavier Henry participates in shoot-around, but still far from return

The Los Angeles Lakers head into the regular season against the Houston Rockets tonight coming off a 3-5 record on the preseason. Trying to improve upon a dreadful 27-win season in 2013-2014, the Lakers will start the season shorthanded, as Xavier Henry is likely out, despite participating in team shoot-around. He is currently listed as day-to-day.

It was reported on October 22 that Henry would miss the entire preseason and is questionable for the start of the season as well due right knee problems as he's recovering from surgery.

Joey Ramirez reported at that coach Byron Scott indicated that Henry would likely not play, noting that "even if he's healthy and he'd good enough to go, he probably wont play."

According to the official Twitter account of the Lakers.
Henry, in his 5th NBA season, averaged a career-high 10 points and 2.7 rebounds in 43 games last season. The veteran forward was drafted in the first round by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2010 and has career averages of 5.9 points and two rebounds in 176 games
