Lions Injury Update: Calvin Johnson will 'definitely' play

By on 10/29/2014 12:30:00 PM

Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson injured his ankle late in the game during week three against the Green Bay Packers and hasn't been the same player since.

Johnson was used as a decoy in the next two games - recording just three total catches and no touchdowns - and sat out completely over his team's following three games. He was a game-time decision last week after practicing in limited fashion, and with the Lions on a bye this week, Johnson appears ready to play in week ten.

The bye week comes at a good time for Johnson and the Lions, as they are able to rest their star receiver and ensure that he is 100% healthy before taking on the Miami Dolphins in week ten. The decision to sit Johnson until he was fully recovered paid off, as the Lions went 3-0 without him.

Fantasy owners that were stung by Johnson's injury can plug him back into their lineups without fear of him being nothing more than a decoy.
