Lions Injury Updates: Calvin Johnson, Reggie Bush

By on 10/22/2014 09:56:00 AM

The Detroit Lions are in England this week for their match-up against the Atlanta Falcons and the status of two of their star players is slowly becoming more clear.  Josh Katzenstein reports that Calvin Johnson was able to tolerate some drills on the field last week after nearly a week of resting.

Johnson was quoted saying, "I'm going to tell you the same thing every week: I'm getting better; I'll tell you that much."  It is likely he will be a game time decision as he continues to work on recovering from a high-ankle sprain that limits his cutting and explosive movements.  If the Lions choose to rest Johnson again this week, they will benefit from giving him an extra week of rest with a bye upcoming in the schedule.

Another Lions star, Reggie Bush, is expected to play against Atlanta after suffering a minor ankle injury last week.  Bush was practicing fully at running back this week and will look to improve the Lions rushing attack which has been less than productive recently.
