Magic Injury Update: Channing Frye steadily increasing workload

By on 10/14/2014 08:00:00 AM

The Orlando Magic lost to the Charlotte Hornets on Monday by the score of 99-97 to move to 2-1 on the preseason. Tobias Harris and Elfrid Payton lead the Magic with 14 points. The Magic were without forward Channing Frye, who is out with a knee injury. The good news is that Frye is increasing his workload in practice.

Our own Riley Jones reported on October 5 that Frye, who was signed by the Magic in the off season, suffered a sprained MCL in practice.  It appeared that the injury wasn't serious.

John Denton, who covers the Magic for, tweeted the following update on Frye.
Frye adds veteran depth at power forward along with Aaron Gordon and Kyle O'Quinn

Frye, an eight-year NBA veteran out of Arizona, averaged 11.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game last season with the Phoenix Suns.  He played for the Knicks, Trail Blazers and Suns before signing with the Magic and has career averages of 9.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
