Marlins Injury Update: Giancarlo Stanton healthy and expected to have normal offseason

By on 10/26/2014 06:30:00 AM

After a taking a Mike Fiers fastball to the face in September, the future of Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton looked in jeopardy.  He would go on to miss the remainder of the season but the Associated Press is reporting that Stanton has declared himself healthy and ready for a regular offseason workout routine.
It hasn't been easy for Stanton, but he has been quoted as saying he is feeling great.
It was a long process of just kind of laying around the house, and not being able to leave too much.  But I feel great now, and I'll be back to my normal offseason routine and shouldn't skip a beat.
This is great news for Stanton who become the one of the biggest offensive forces in the game today.  At the plate this season Stanton batted .288 while driving in 105 runs.  He also led the National League in both home runs and slugging percentage.

The Marlins are an upstart team that should surprise again this season.  With Stanton having a full offseason of work they are set to get even stronger heading into 2015.
