The Dallas Mavericks enter tonight's game against the Orlando Magic coming off an 88-85 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday. Gal Mekel lead the Mavericks with 17 points and eight assists in 42 minutes. The Mavericks were again without guard Raymond Felton, who continues to recover from an ankle injury. The good news is that Felton has progressed to hydro pool exercises.

I reported on October 12 that Felton was on crutches with a protective boot following an ankle injury in the first quarter of the previous Friday's game. Fortunately, X-rays were negative but Felton was still expected to need a little time to recover.

Although still no word on when Felton will return, he has made some improvements, as noted by a tweet from Earl K. Sneed, who covers the Mavericks at
Felton, in his 10th NBA season, averaged 9.7 points and 5.6 assists in 65 games for the New York Knicks last season. The veteran point guard has played for the Bobcats, Nuggets, Knicks and Trail Blazers and has career averages of 13.1 points, 6.5 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game.
