Nuggets Injury Update: Danilo Gallinari likely to miss Tuesday's game with a 'cold'

By on 10/21/2014 10:30:00 AM

The Denver Nuggets head into tonight's game against the Portland Trail Blazers with a 2-4 record in the preseason. The Nuggets are looking to improve their defense which allowed 106.5 points per game last season and have given up just 100.5 points per game in the preseason. They will likely be without Danilo Gallinari tonight, who missed practice yesterday with a cold.

Howcheng via Wikimedia Commons reported that Gallinari's status for the season opener is not likely to be affected by his cold, even though he did not practice yesterday and is questionable for tonight's game against the Trail Blazers.

The Nuggets have to be pleased with the play of Gallinari this preseason, coming off a partially torn ACL and reconstructive surgery in January. He's averaging 11.7 points and 2.3 rebounds in nearly 15 minutes per game.

Gallinari was drafted by the New York Knicks in the first round in 2008.  In 2012-2103, he set a career high in scoring, at 16.2 points per game, to go along with 5.2 rebounds.  In 285 career games, Gallinari is averaging 14.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.
