Nuggets Injury Update: Nate Robinson still not cleared for 5-on-5

By on 10/01/2014 06:30:00 AM

The Denver Nuggets head into training camp coming off a season in which they won 36 games, fourth in the Northwest Division. Although the Nuggets were solid on offense, ranked 9th in the NBA in points scored, they were a dreadful 28th in points allowed. Injuries played a key factor in the poor season. One key injury was to Nate Robinson, who played in only 44 games. Although improving from a torn ACL, Robinson still hasn't been cleared for 5-on-5 drills.

As reported by Christopher Dempsey of The Denver Post, the Nuggets pushed 300 man games lost last season due to injuries. Those injuries decimated a team that won 57 games the previous season. One key injury was Robinson's torn ACL on January 29. Danilo Gallinari, J.J. Hickson and JaVale McGee also all missed significant time and are ready to play. Robinson will be brought along at a slow pace and has yet to be cleared for 5-on-5.

Robinson, entering his 10th NBA season, averaged 10.4 points on 42.8 percent shooting from the floor, to go along with 2.5 assists per game last season.  The well-traveled veteran has played for the Knicks, Celtics, Thunder, Warriors, Bulls and Nuggets and has career averages of 11.4 points and three assists per game.
