Injuries have been a concern for Viktor Fasth during his NHL career. In his three previous seasons, Fasth has appeared in net for no more than 25 games. The past two seasons combined he has appeared in a total of twelve games. The combination of Fasth’s age (32) and his history of injuries has the Oilers concerned about his ability to last an entire season.
The Oilers have had a rough start to the season going 0-2-1 in their first three games. They have recalled goaltender Richard Bachman from Oklahoma City to take Fasth’s place. Fasth’s return date is unknown at the current time.
