Pacers Injury Update: George Hill questionable for the Hornets game

By on 10/22/2014 07:44:00 AM

George Hill, the star point guard of the Indiana Pacers is doubtful for his team's last preseason game against the Charlotte Hornets, scheduled on Thursday.

Hill suffered a left knee contusion during the Pacers' preseason game against Minesotta Timberwolves on Tuesday. Hill left the game in-between having racked up 14 points, five rebounds, three assists and a three-pointer. The Pacers went on to lose the game 89-107 and their preseason record stands at 2-4.

Hill is a huge component of the Pacers' offense. His backup at point guard, CJ Watson did not play against the Timberwolves with a sore foot but may see some minutes on Thursday.

The Pacers finished top of their division as well as the conference in 2013/14, but lost to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals. Hill averaged 10.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists on a per-game basis making 76 appearances with 32 MPG last season. It was significantly lower from his stats the season before - 14.2 points per game and 4.7 assists per game.

The Pacers have as many as seven players sidelined at the moment. Next week, when they face the Philadelphia 76ers in the first game of the regular season, Frank Vogel will hope he has his starting point-guard ready to go!
