The Pittsburgh Penguins are in luck. Forward Evgeni Malkin will be in the lineup tonight against the Anaheim Ducks. Just one day ago the forward said there was a 50/50 chance he would be ready for opening night.

Malkin missed training camp with an undisclosed injury that appeared he suffered off the ice. Malkin's first practice was a few days ago. While he was unsure if he would play, coach Mike Johnston said there was a 99% chance that Malkin would play.

As for Malkin, he says he is feeling slightly out of shape but he feels good. He told reporters on Tuesday morning that if he was not ready for Thursday night he would be ready for Saturday night.

Malkin is expected to play on the right wing on the same line as Brandon Sutter and Pascal Dupuis.

Last season Malkin played 60 games had 23 goals and 49 assists.
