As reported by news services, Meeks will be sidelined eight weeks with a stress reaction in his lower back. Meeks originally had back spasms on October 9 and was diagnosed through a CT scan performed by the Pistons' medical staff.

Injuries are piling up early in the preseason for the Pistons, who have already lost Will Bynum to a right hamstring injury and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to a knee strain

Meeks, in his first season with the Pistons, scored 13 points and grabbed four rebounds in one preseason game this season. He had his best season of his career with the Lakers last season, averaging 15.7 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. The veteran guard has played for the Bucks, 76ers and Lakers before signing with the Pistons and has career averages of 9.7 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.
