By on 10/28/2014 01:20:00 PM

The Nashville Predators announced today that they have activated journeyman center Matt Cullen off of injured reserve. As reported by, the move clears the way for Cullen to join the team on its upcoming six game road trip that has the team away from home until November 8th.

Cullen has been out-of-action since enduring an upper-body injury in a preseason game in late September against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Nashville has put forward Rich Clune on waivers to make room for the return of Cullen. Cullen skated with linemates on Monday without incident and should be ready to go when the Predators face the suddenly red-hot Oilers in Edmonton tomorrow night.

Cullen is an 18-year NHL veteran piling up 601 career points in stints with Anaheim, Florida, Carolina (twice), the New York Rangers, Ottawa, Minnesota and now, Nashville.
