Rangers Injury Update: Dan Girardi is on Schedule to be in Lineup Tonight

By on 10/21/2014 07:16:00 PM

It looks like Dan Girardi will return to the lineup tonight for the New York Rangers when they face the New Jersey Devils. Girardi left the Rangers 4-0 victory against the San Jose Sharks on Sunday with lacerations on his lower right leg after blocking two shots early in the third period. Girardi successfully participated in the optional morning skate on Tuesday.

Larry Brooks from the reported that Girardi missed Monday’s practice as he bled through the stitches he received the previous day. Dan Girardi has played with the New York Rangers for his entire NHL career and has been extremely durable throughout. In the seven out of eight full seasons Girardi has been with the team, he has played in at least 80 of the 82 regular season games. This is a remarkable stat for defensemen who must remain active and aggressive for entire games.

The Rangers are currently 3-3 after six games.
