Rangers Injury Update: Kevin Klein is Day-To-Day After Taking Puck to the Chin

By on 10/20/2014 05:12:00 PM

Late in the New York Rangers’ 4-0 shutout victory over the San Jose Sharks, Kevin Klein was stuck in the chin with the puck and needed stitches to close the gash.

Jim Cerny from BlueShirtsUnited reported that in the final seconds, the defenseman was hit and is now day-to-day heading into the Rangers’ next game on Tuesday against the New Jersey Devils. Kevin Klein was able to participate in morning skate today which is a positive sign.

During the first six games, Kevin Klein is pointless, but his plus/minus is at a +2. The 2014-2015 season is scheduled to be Klein’s first full season with the Rangers after spending the previous eight and half seasons with Nashville (Klein came over to the Rangers midway through last season).

The Rangers are currently at 3-3 and riding a two game winning streak. This week they play at New Jersey (Tuesday) and at Montreal (Saturday).
