Rangers Injury Update: Tanner Scheppers 'feels great' in bullpen session

By on 10/18/2014 07:00:00 AM

Although he had never started a game in his major league career, Tanner Scheppers was named the Texas Rangers opening day starter to start 2014. Being named the day one starter was the high point of his season.  He has hit hard in four starts and then moved back to the bullpen.  Later elbow troubles, landed him on the disabled list.
But heading into the 2015 season, ESPN Dallas' Calvin Watkins is reporting that Scheppers is on the road to recovery.  He reported that Scheppers recently threw a bullpen and is feeling good.

As a former first round compensation pick, Scheppers has been an important piece to the Rangers bullpen where he is expected to return next season.  In 119 career relief appearances, Scheppers is 7-2 with a 2.77 ERA. His best season came in 2013 when he went 6-2 with a 1.88 ERA in 76 games.

With a new manager and a new attitude, Scheppers will long to help bring the Rangers back to relevancy in the highly competitive American League West.
