Ravens Injury Report: Jimmy Smith exits with foot injury

By on 10/27/2014 11:40:00 PM

The Baltimore Ravens suffered a narrow loss against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, putting them at 5-3 on the season. Compounding the damage was the loss of their top cornerback in Jimmy Smith, who was carted off the field with a foot injury.

Unfortunately, Smith is a player the Ravens can ill-afford to lose, as he is the brightest spot in one of the weakest sections on the team. Smith is having one of the best years for any Ravens cornerback in eight years and is the only player in the secondary who seems to be able to consistently clamp down on receivers.

It also comes at a particularly bad time as the Ravens are due to play the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is just coming off a 522 yard passing game.

The remaining Ravens cornerbacks are Lardarius Webb, Dominique Franks and Chykie Brown. Webb has struggled in his return from a back injury, Franks wasn't even in the league for the first five weeks of this season and Brown has been inactive for the last two weeks.
