Red Wings Injury Update: Johan Franzen leaves game against Leafs with leg spasms

By on 10/18/2014 06:30:00 PM

Detroit Red Wings forward Johan Franzen left Friday's game in Toronto with muscle spasms and cramping in his leg, according to sportsnet.ca.

The 34-year-old winger scored two goals in the 4-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs before exiting in the second period.  He described the injury as "a really tight spasm" which relaxed on the bench for a bit only to return when Franzen got back on the ice.  Franzen has three assists to go along with his two goals through Detroit's first four games.  He will most likely be a game-time decision tonight when the Red Wings again take on the Maple Leafs, this time in Joe Louis Arena.
